Herzog's Grizzly Man

Some of Herzog's interviewing techniques were strange, as he let scenes linger, especially the scene with the doctor. The doctor was very weird as he talked about Treadwill's death, and then Herzog left the camera rolling while the doctor stared into space. Some of the other interviews seemed set up and Herzog had much input and influence on the understanding of Treadwill. Some of the scenes seemed, for lack of a better word, "corny" and set up which made them unauthentic. A scene that shows this was when Jewel lets Herzog listen to the tape and then Herzog tells her to throw it out, and she says she is definitely going to destroy it. If she was so positive she was going to destroy it, she would have done so already. Although some of the scenes were set up, Herzog uses a lot of Treawill's good footage, that allows us a glimpse into why he lives with the bears. This is evident in one of the last scenes of the movies where Treadwill says (almost as a last farewell and attempt to explain himself), "its the only thing I know, the only thing I want to know."
